Oliver Sweeney – Superbly Crafted Shoes for Men

Oliver Sweeney Aldeburgh Oxford Cut Brogue

Oliver Sweeney “Aldeburgh” Oxford Cut Brogue

A while back I came across the most beautiful shoes for men by Oliver Sweeney.  I quickly signed up to receive all the latest news and found myself opening each email sent to me the moment I saw it.  I was (and still am!) fascinated by the attention to detail and the craftsmanship of each shoe.  I also love that the Oliver Sweeney website educates you. It teaches you about their designs and materials used and also of the shoe making process, the artisans behind it and the reasons for their processes.  Oliver Sweeney are not afraid to educate and it is so completely refreshing to see such sharing of knowledge and practices.

It is reassuring to know the shoes have been made by the same family run workshop in Italy for the past twenty years, in the coastal region of Le Marche – well-known for shoe-making traditions.  Not only do the shoes look superb they have a strong focus on comfort.  Basing the shoe on what they call the Anatomical Last, it mimics the profile of the human foot to give you a comfortable shoe.

The latest shoe I have fallen in love with is the Aldeburgh Oxford cut Brogue.  A Goodyear Welted 5 eyelet Oxford with brogueing, punching and gimping detailing. What a brilliant shoe!

My advice?  Head on over to the Oliver Sweeney website and learn more about what they do and see for yourself the attention to detail and processes of these beautiful shoes.
