In my search for all things wonderful in mens styling I came across a wonderful online store called Owen & Fred. I find myself heading back there, over and over, loving what I see – and what they are about.
According the the Owen & Fred website – it all started with a Quiksilver pleather and leather wallet!
Mike Arnot, desperately wanted to upgrade his wallet and his search for a leather wallet … “that was well-made and designed, by the hands of a craftsman in the United States.
“I had ventured to Bloomingdales and Macy’s for my search,” Mike says. “Those wallets are typically machine-made, for the masses, and made without much love. Furthermore, it’s hard to find high-quality products on some of the largest eCommerce sites. Was there nothing between Kenneth Cole and Armani?”
Mike eventually did find a beautiful leather wallet but it was by chance. He believed that it shouldn’t be so hard to find high-quality men’s gifts, goods, and accessories. Nor should it be so difficult to find great design, designed for men.
So the team (comprised of regular, stylish guys) launched an eCommerce brand that focuses on finding high-quality products, with an emphasis on products created by craftsmen and women in the USA. And as our loyal customers know, forging stellar customer relationships is what we do.
And that’s how Owen & Fred was born.”
Owen & Fred is based in a tiny little warehouse in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York.
I love what Owen & Fred is about and their concept and products remind me of a time in life where quality was important, hand crafted and well thought out products were the norm and life was much simpler, yet more fulfilling.
NYC Subway Tokens Cufflinks
I wish these ones weren’t Sold Out – I love their vintage look. The NYC subway tokens are from the 50s and 60s and handcrafted by being epoxied to gold plate cufflink posts. QA Creative have found a fabulous way to recycle and repurpose a part of history. Lucky Owen & Fred have many other cufflinks to choose from so if you like cufflinks be sure to check them out.

Woven Sailing Belt – The JFK
I’ve always loved seeing images of sailing and knots. So my delight when I saw the Kiel James Patrick Croffix Sailing Belt, a hand-braided blue, red and white belt with a full grain tumbled vegetable-tanned leather was quite evident. And this one is perfectly named “The JFK”. Style, style, style.

“Shine” Shoe Shine Brush
What better way to keep those shoes looking their best than this super stylish shoe shine brush from Izola. The brush has a hardwood handle, boar’s hair bristles and of course, the reminder of the purpose spelt out for you in the bristles.
