The striking colour of magenta in the Calibre Autumn Winter 2014 collection had me mesmerised from the moment I saw the campaign.  I love the brilliance of this colour against the wonderful neutrals. The magenta, combined with the dark backdrop, gives an extra punch to the overall look.  Added to the colour mix are forest green, amber and Russian blue.  I can almost feel the texture of the fabrics when you look at the photos just from the use of colour and light.

The images were shot by Beau Grealy and feature International model, Garrett Neff, who you may recognise from Calibre’s 20th Anniversary campaign, quite lovely really they decided to have him return for their 25th Anniversary.  I like seeing the return of a model many years later. Garrett is also well known for his work as a Calvin Klein model.

The popular lean silhouette of the Calibre collection is still evident, updating it this season with a more relaxed feel.  With references to contemporary sportswear, using softer, more technical fabrics and shapes allowing a play on layering, the collection really embraces garments that can easily be worn as well as look amazing.  Back to that amazing magenta bomber jacket!  It is reversible also, with the magenta outer in a silk twill and the reverse side, a shower proof navy nylon.  A favourite of mine from this beautiful collection.  Guys, you need to get onto it, and don’t forget about that bag either!
