Today is the first day of Summer here in Australia, and while I am enjoying every moment of sunshine, blue skies and beach days, I’m also spending hours each day online dreaming of Winter and planning ahead. Thankfully, I also have an audience that lives all around the world so writing for Winter is quite relevant to many of you!
A collection that caught my eye on MRPORTER.COM is an exclusive by CFDA award winning designer Thom Browne. The exclusive capsule collection is made up of nine pieces. You’ll find a sports jacket, Chesterfield overcoat, cropped trousers and contrast brogue boots. Thom Browne is known for his unique take on classic staples and these pieces stick true to his signature. If you like a slim and lean silhouette, this collection is for you. Thom’s background is that of a master craftsman. This collection clearly shows this influence, with amazing attention to detail. I love the different shades of grey used and the alternating use of fabrics of the same weight. Herringbone tweed in anthracite, grey and charcoal. Thom Browne’s signature red, white and blue grosgrain contrasts beautifully against the variations of grey throughout the collection.
The offering at MR PORTER is such a delight. The exclusive collections they support each season allows men to have product that is unique and limited edition. “At MR PORTER we strive to give our customers something that they cannot get anywhere else. We have worked with Thom Browne for several seasons now and are fans of his expert craftsmanship and tailoring. This capsule encapsulates his attention to detail utilising the best fabrics to create a sharp silhouette and a very modern take on city dressing.” said Toby Bateman, Buying Director at MRPORTER.COM
