Burberry Monogramming for Iconic Trench

A Personal Touch

The Iconic Burberry made-in-England Heritage Trench Coats just became even more desirable! Burberry have introduced monogramming to this iconic style, giving you the option of 15 thread colours for your initials to be embroidered on the coat. This addition to an already loved favourite from Burberry is the attention to detail I adore.

Burberry is always thinking of you when they develop and this is no different. The new service is not only available for in-store but also online. You might wonder, how will I know what it looks like? This is answered for you with the responsive monogramming tool. All you do is select your style trench, choose a colour and select the option to add your initials. Simply enter in your initials, choose the colour thread you would like and it appears to you as it will look. If you can’t decide on the colour thread, the feature recommends a colour for you. Where will Burberry place the monogram? You’ll find it on the right inside of the coat for men, 10cm below the final buttonhole.

The Westminster

So you’ve decided to get a new coat and want to try out the monogramming. First you need to decide which trench you want to wear. The Burberry trench coats come in many different styles. My favourite two are the Westminster and The Chelsea.

Let’s take a look at The Westminster. A classic fit trench coat, it is tailored to the body with a generous cut. The fabric, a weatherproof, tightly woven cotton gabardine, was invented in 1879 by Thomas Burberry. What I do love about this coat, is it is made in Castelford, England, staying true to the British heritage. Using modern technological developments combined with traditional techniques, Burberry has been able to stay relevant to the ever-changing market with this iconic piece.

The Westminster is great for all seasons, and coming out of summer here in Australia, I know there are a lot of you who are looking forward to having more layers to wear. This trench looks great worn belted over your more tailored look and also looks fantastic with your denim and t-shirts for a more relaxed look.

The Chelsea

The Chelsea is the narrowest fit of all the Burberry Trench Coats and the most recent addition. With a tapered waist and a precisely tailored collar and gun flap, this double-breasted button closure style has the iconic check on the undercollar and made from the same cotton gabardine as The Westminster. I remember the first time I saw the Chelsea at the Spring Summer show at London Collections: Men in June last year (read the story here). Similar to The Westminster in it is an all occasions coat, The Chelsea is a great look for those liking a more narrow fit.
